MRA 6 Utilization for Livestock Nutrition

Dr. Mike Lacy 
Dr. Michael Lacy is the former Department Head and Professor Emeritus of Poultry Science at the University of Georgia in the College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences. He has a B.S. in Biology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech), and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Poultry Science from Virginia Tech. Dr. Lacy is the principal investigator of the Soybean Innovation Lab’s Managed Research Area: Utilization of Soybean for Livestock Nutrition. Dr. Lacy is an expert in broiler production and management with over 25 years of experience as a Poultry Extension Specialist at the University of Georgia. He has worked for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) as an expert advisor in Algeria, consulted on poultry production in South Africa and worked on small poultry projects in Mali directed specifically at women. His long-term interests are in methods of overcoming protein malnutrition and creating economic empowerment for women in developing countries.
